Apple upgraded its iPad Pro line with a complete redesign to make it the company’s most powerful tablet yet. Much like Apple tends to do with new products, it raised prices, including the repair service that will cost you a small fortune if you are out of warranty.

With the unveiling of the new iPad Pro, Apple also introduced new pricing for its accessories and services like AppleCare+, the latter of which will now cost $129, up from the $99 for the old iPad Pros. You’ll want to seriously consider spending the extra cash because if you don’t, it’s going to cost you way more to repair it later on.

According to Apple, out-of-warranty repairs for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will cost a stunning $649 and $449 for the smaller 11-inch iPad Pro. That’s almost as much as you’d have paid for the tablet itself. The same repair for the iPad Pros within warranty will cost just a $49 fee, making the purchase of AppleCare+ a no-brainer decision unless you want to be stuck with a huge repair cost.

Another perk of dropping the extra cash for the warranty service is that it covers the Apple Pencil. AppleCare+ can be purchased within 60 days of buying the iPad Pro online or through an Apple Store.
