HBO announced its additions for the month of April, but only one title matters. That would be Westworld. The sophomore season of the popular HBO series debuts April 22.
Westworld follows a basic premise: In an alternative world, Westworld is an amusement park themed after the Wild West. In it live a series of hosts—programmable androids who are there to flesh out the visitor’s experience. When an update causes the hosts to understand their purpose and reality, things go haywire.
The series debuted back in 2016 and was HBO’s most popular new series ever, topping the likes of Game of Thrones and True Detective.
April also sees the arrival of Paterno, an HBO original movie. Starring Al Pacino, the movie revolves around famed Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. It examines Paterno’s life in the aftermath of the discovery one of his assistant coaches, Jerry Sandusky, engaged a decades-long operation sexually exploiting children—often times within the university’s campus.
Those aren’t the only titles coming to the service in April, all of which are in the list down below.
